Mileage Reimbursement for Ambulance Services
Representatives L. Borowski and G. Scott reintroduced legislation to amend Human Services Code to provide Medicaid reimbursement for every mile a patient is transported by ambulance. This would eliminate the provision that limits the per-mile reimbursement of at least $4 to each mile beyond 20 miles of patient transportation. This legislation would deliver much-needed funding to support emergency responders as they continue to provide essential services across the Commonwealth. This was introduced as House Bill 1605. Enhancing Drug Overdose Tracking and Lifesaving Response
Senator D. Mastriano introduce legislation to improve how Pennsylvania tracks and responds to drug overdoses. This legislation will add Emergency Medical Services (EMS) providers as required reporters to the ODIN system. EMS providers are responsible for handling over 80% of overdoses annually in Pennsylvania and adding them to the ODIN system will drastically improve the overall accuracy of the system. Butler County CAN-AM Games Week – July 15-24, 2024
Representatives S. Scialabba, A. Bernstine, T. Bonner and M. Mustello introduced a resolution designating the period of July 15 through July 24, 2024 as “Butler County CAN-AM Games Week” in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. This resolution is in honor of Pennsylvania hosting the CAN-AM Police-Fire Games for the second time since 2014. An event which has been ongoing for nearly half a century since 1977 in honor of the efforts of our Police and Firefighters that serve our communities and help keep them safe and secure. October 8-14, 2023 as “Fire Prevention Week” in Pennsylvania
Representatives K. Marcell and J. Hogan introduced a resolution to recognize October 8-14, 2023, as “Fire Prevention Week™” in Pennsylvania. The theme for this year’s Fire Prevention Week™, as chosen by the National Fire Protection Association®, is “Cooking safety starts with YOU. Pay attention to fire prevention™”. It serves as a reminder to exercise caution when cooking and prevent kitchen fires. It also provides guidance on how to inspect our kitchens for fire hazards and adopt safe cooking practices.
