LAST CALL for the Ellis Training Weekend

Aug 26, 2023 | Events, Latest News

The Inaugural Jimmy Ellis Training Weekend will be September 8th, 9th and 10th at the Cranberry Public Safety Training Facility.

The cost for the weekend is $300 with all proceeds going directly to the Jimmy Ellis Firefighter Foundation. So, think of it as a Giant Training Fundraiser.

The weekend will include a lecture Friday night by Deputy Chief Anthony Kelleher from DC. Food and drink will be included.

Saturday and Sunday will be a RIT/ Survival program with Assistant Chief Jim Crawford from Midway, SC and the “Crew” from Pittsburgh Fire and what we are calling the Jimmy Ellis Experience which is 10 hours of responses including vehicle crashes, rescues, and FIRES orchestrated through the Instructors of Jimmy’s Hometown.

The Jimmy Ellis Firefighter Foundation has been set up to keep Jimmy’s fire service ideology alive. The mission of the organization is to raise money and pass on real world fire service knowledge. The reason we are raising money is to send Firefighters, through a scholarship program, to out of town training events such as the Ohio Crash Course, Fire Department Instructor Conference (FDIC), and Fire Department Training Network (FDTN). Jimmy was deeply involved in these training programs and spoke highly of the quality of instruction.

There will be an annual application process through the Foundation for the Scholarships. The deadline is September 1st at noon!
