Small Games of Chance Legislation

March 31, 2021

Senator Yaw plans to reintroduce Senate Bill 784 from last session amending the “The Local Option Small Games of Chance Act,” which will focus on both the charitable and tavern gaming sections of the act. For more information, click here.


Hunting and Fishing Licenses – Health Care Workers and First Responders

March 31, 2021

Representative Merski plans to introduce a package of legislation that would allow health care workers and first responders to take advantage of this recuperative environment and encourage them to get outside and get away from the difficult situations they deal with every day.  Specifically, the proposed legislation would provide for $1 hunting and fishing licenses for these important workers, who continually do everything they can to keep us safe and healthy. Direct EMS Reimbursement

March 18, 2021

Representative Masser plans to reintroduce House Bill 1347 to address a longstanding billing issue plaguing our emergency services providers in this Commonwealth. This proposed legislation will repeal specific provisions under the act that were implemented in 2015 by Act 84, which created a “registry” to be maintained by the Department of Health, which out-network 911 ambulance companies could select annually from which insurance carrier they would be willing to receive reimbursement. Restricting PFAS Chemicals from Firefighting Foam

March 15, 2021

Representative Sturla plans to introduce legislation to establish statewide uniform requirements restricting the use of Class B firefighting foams containing added PFAS chemistries for training, restricting their use in testing, while also allowing for continued sale and use against real-world fires. EMS Compact

March 12, 2021

Senator Stefano plans to introduce legislation making Pennsylvania the 22nd state to join the EMS Compact. Simply put, the EMS Compact facilitates the day-to-day movement of EMS personnel across state boundaries in the performance of their duties as assigned by an appropriate authority without jeopardizing public safety. State Fire Commissioners Act 13 Funding (Former HB2780)

March 1, 2021

Representative Quinn plans to introduce legislation to amend Act 13 to allow Unconventional Gas Well Funds to be allocated by the Office of the State Fire Commissioner to address gas pipeline related emergencies so that we can assure a safe and prosperous future. For more information, click here.
